Over the course of almost a decade, counting from the time of his disapperance, Raoul Wallenberg has been honoured in many different ways. Monuments have been raised, books have been printed and schools have been named - all to his heroic deeds - all around the world. In 1981, he became an honorary citizen of the United States, in 1985 in Canada, and in 1986 in Israel.

The first monument to honor Raoul Wallenberg was raised in 1947 in Budapest. Since then have more than 30 monuments been raised all over the world: New York, Washington, London, Mosco, Debrecen, Jerusalem, Melbourne, Sydney, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile etc.

Books & movies

Stamps
Five stamps have been issued in honour of Raoul Wallenbergs deeds. Israel's Postal Service was the first one in the world. Until today, Sweden, United States, Argentine and Uruguay have issued a Raoul Wallenberg stamp too.

Honorary citizenship
In October of 1981 Raoul Wallenberg was recognized by the United States with honorary citizenship, an honor only given to one other person before, Winston Churchill. In 1985 Raoul Wallenberg was made an honorary citizen of Canada, Israel in 1986 and Budapest in 2003.
